HUNTING ON RPA LANDS
Please review Steps to Hunt on RPA Lands, then read the following information.
Hunting is allowed on RPA lands as follows:
Albert Family Community Forest
Hunting is permitted at Albert Family Community Forest with pre-registration on a first come first served basis. We restrict the maximum number of hunters on any one day.
Follow the steps below to apply for hunting privileges.
Hunting is permitted for Big Game (Deer / Bear) only.
Hunting is not permitted at Barberville Falls.
Hunting at Chestnut Hill is allowed by special arrangement only as per the wishes
of the donor, Ken James. Public hunting on this land is not permitted.
(Gundrum land)
All activities that are allowed on the New York State-owned Pittstown State Forest are allowed at Grafton Forest. Open public hunting is allowed on this land.
(Co-owned by Rensselaer Plateau Alliance and Rensselaer Land Trust)
Hunting is not permitted at Poesten Kill Bends.
Poestenkill Community Forest
Hunting is permitted at Poestenkill Community Forest with pre-registration on a first come first served basis. We restrict the maximum number of hunters on any one day.
Follow the steps below to apply for hunting privileges.
Hunting is permitted for Big Game (Deer / Bear) only.
Hunting applications for 2020 will be open from August 15 until October 15. Requests will be accepted beginning August 15 on a first come, first served basis in advance of the specific season / dates requested.
