Where hunting is permitted, we restrict the maximum number of hunters on any one day.To learn more about hunting on HTL lands, please read the information below or read the RPA Hunting FAQ.

​Hunting is allowed on HTL lands as follows:

​

Albert Family Community Forest

Hunting is permitted at Albert Family Community Forest with pre-registration on a first come, first served basis. Hunting at Albert Family Community Forest is permitted for Big Game (Deer/Bear) only.
​

Barberville Falls Preserve

Hunting is not permitted at Barberville Falls.

​​

Bessie's Woods

Hunting is permitted at Bessie's Woods with pre-registration on a first come, first served basis. Hunting at Bessie's Woods is permitted for Big Game (Deer/Bear) only.

Chestnut Hill Preserve

Hunting at Chestnut Hill is allowed by special arrangement only as per the wishes of the donor, Ken James. Public hunting on this land is not permitted.

Kinderhook Creek Preserve

Hunting is permitted at Kinderhook Creek Preserve with pre-registration on a first come, first served basis. Hunting at Kinderhook Creek Preserve is permitted for Big Game (Deer/Bear) only.

​​Poesten Kill Bends Preserve

Hunting is not permitted at Poesten Kill Bends.

Poestenkill Community Forest

Hunting is permitted at Poestenkill Community Forest with pre-registration on a first come first served basis. Hunting at Poestenkill Community Forest is permitted for Big Game (Deer/Bear) only.​

Valentino Family Community Forest

Hunting is permitted at Valentino Family Community Forest with pre-registration on a first come first served basis. Hunting at Valentino Family Community Forest is permitted for Big Game (Deer/Bear) only.

Additional restrictions for hunting at Valentino Family Community Forest: 

• Hunting is only allowed between November 1 and December 10

• No hunting on Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday

• Boehme Legacy Forest

• Hunt Preserve

• Lanford Wood Community Forest

• Raven's Retreat
