Restore & Reconnect

forest bathing and nature meditation to engage the senses

A healthy dose of nature for the body and mind

Nature has the ability to calm, inspire, and restore us, free of charge, and in all seasons. RPA's Community Forests were established to serve you - our community members - in every way possible. Let Molly help you to connect to the forest and your own sense of peace and well-being. Molly will offer Mindful Nature Walks on a monthly basis, making use of her training as a Kripalu Certified Mindful Outdoor Guide.

Upcoming Walks:

January Mindful Nature Walk

Sunday, January 12, 10 am - 12:30 pm

Albert Family Community Forest, 120 Hayes Rd, East Nassau, NY

Join Kripalu-certified Mindful Outdoor Guides Molly Freiberg and Moriah Cutro-Kelly for RPA's January Mindful Nature Walk.

We will be walking slowly, sometimes sitting, to take in the forest atmosphere, so we will not be building much heat. Bundle up in your warm winter layers...then add another or 2 more! Please no cotton layers as these will not keep you warm. Wool or special outdoorsy synthetics will keep you warm even with perspiration.

Although we try not to have much elevation gain, just in case, wear boots with good tread or microspikes. Too tight shoes will make you colder so wear your roomy boots with extra socks. We will drink nice hot tea together (provided) at the end of the walk as we share about our favorite parts of the morning, full of gratitude for time in nature during winter!

Please contact molly@rensselaerplateau.org or 978-239-8105 to register ahead of time in case of weather-related cancellation (drop-ins also welcome!) and get in touch with any questions or thoughts. Ages 12 and up. $5 - $10 suggested donation goes directly to support conservation on the Rensselaer Plateau.

December Mindful Nature Walk

Sunday, December 15, 9 am - 12 pm

Poestenkill Community Forest, 200 Legenbauer Rd, Averill Park (in East Postenkill)

We will combine forest bathing, walking, and present-centered awareness to relieve stress and get inspired. Just as squirrels gather and store nuts for winter food, we can cultivate our own warmth and sustenance through our connection to land and each other. Ages 12 and up. $5 - $10 suggested donation goes directly to support conservation on the Rensselaer Plateau. Questions? Reach out to Molly: molly@rensselaerplateau.org or 978-239-8105.
