Curious about wild edibles? You are invited to attend this free event at Albert Family Community Forest for an introduction to foraging on the Plateau. Learn about the identification of common edibles, microclimates, and herbal remedies! We will take a hike through the woods and be edible detectives as we search for plants to add to our diets. You'll leave with some basic insights into the world of wild edibles

This event will involve on- and off-trail hiking over varied terrain. Some terrain may be steep. Please bring weather-appropriate layers, wear sturdy shoes or boots, and bring bug spray, water, and a snack.
 

Lauren Meyer is a lifelong Stephentown resident who wants to give back to her community. She just finished her first year at Hudson Valley Community College, where she is studying Environmental Studies. This summer, she is doing an internship with Rensselaer Plateau Alliance. 

 

Alana Gerus, Conservation Project Manager at RPA, is a Plateau resident who enjoys hiking, bird watching, and plant identifying in every season.
