The Tomhannock Reservoir provides drinking water to over 135,000 people in our region. This project is part of the Tomhannock Rural Land Campaign.
What to expect & what to bring
This volunteer event will include up to three hours of trash cleanup along shorelines and roadsides around the Tomhannock Reservoir. Please bring gloves, water, and a snack, and wear weather-appropriate layers and sturdy footwear. Trash bags and orange safety vests will be provided.
About the event leader
Kim Murdick is a lifelong Rensselaer County resident with a love for nature that started when she was a child exploring the forests of East Poestenkill. She’s always enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it's hiking local trails with her Labrador Retriever or discovering new plants and animals. Kim graduated from The College of Saint Rose with a Bachelor of Science degree and now serves as the Volunteer Coordinator for Hudson Taconic Lands. She loves helping people find volunteer opportunities that are fun and meaningful, all while connecting with others who share her passion for the outdoors.
