The Beer & Build workshop / fundraiser planned for March 21 has been cancelled due to COVID-19. A message is going out soon to all registrants regarding next steps. Meanwhile, you can continue to support the hempcrete renovation project at RPA's Albert Family Community Forest: renovating an old hunting cabin into an accessible Nature Classroom and community space.
Funds raised from the workshop were to go directly toward purchasing a metal roof and construction supplies. So far we've raise $1,400 of the $2,500 needed through our February Hempcrete workshop, a Climate Smart Community Grant from the village of East Nassau, and GoFundMe campaign. Help us raise the rest so that the project can be completed by EcoForm Design this spring!
Hempcrete uses what would be a waste byproduct of the hemp industry to create a building material that is lighter than concrete, can self-heal, and is good for soil health! We'll learn from Sam and Cam from EcoForm Design, then get our hands dirty creating a hempcrete wall panel. Nature should be accessible and welcoming for all, and supporting renewables is part of the solution in a changing climate.
