Join us for a special Mindfulness Monday Event on June 29th at 6pm. Molly Freiberg, Community Engagement Manager
and Mindful Outdoor Guide, will be hosting a very relaxing half-hour guided nature meditation that you can do
from the comfort of your own home or yard. This is an invitation to rest and restore and to connect with nature to help
with stress and other big emotions we are all feeling right now.
Once you register, you'll be emailed a link for a pre-recorded guided meditation and a link to a Zoom meeting. Here's how it will work: At 6pm on June 29th, get comfy in your own home or yard and click the link to listen to the nature meditation. This will be on your own; no need to sign into the Zoom meeting for this part. We will have all finished listening by 6:45 and be nice and relaxed.
At this point, click the link to the Zoom meeting, where we will be able to connect over our experience and enjoy community. Our virtual meeting will follow the same process that we use for "council practice" during RPA's Mindful Nature Walks. Council practice is one aspect of “forest bathing” where participants just share anything that they noticed, experienced, or connected with while others listen.
We hope that this helps us all connect to the restorative power of nature and community, regardless of location, circumstance, and physical considerations. There is no need for access to the outdoors for this event and no need for any movement.
There's a $5-$10 suggested donation for those who are able to support conservation on the Rensselaer Plateau but we encourage everyone to join, regardless of that -- we all need some rest and self-care and everyone is so very welcome.
