About this event
You are invited to join Addison Kubik of Capital Region PRISM to learn about using the iMapInvasives mapping tool to report invasive species sightings. This online training will be an introduction to setting up and getting started with the iMapInvasives app on your mobile device. This is the first event in a two-part community science volunteer opportunity.
What to expect
During this one hour online training, participants should expect to download, install and set up the iMapInvasives mobile app in the App Store or Google Play Store (search for iMapInvasives by SUNY-ESF).
About the outing leader
Addison Kubik grew up wandering the woods of New York’s southern tier, which over time grew into a passion for native plants and wildlife. In college, Addison studied Conservation Biology with a focus in botany and dendrology. He now works as the Education & Outreach Coordinator for the Capital Region Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management (PRISM) where he supports conservation work in the Capital Region by providing talks and lectures, hosting workshops and trainings, leading volunteer events, and more.
