We are excited to announce the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the 416-acre Valentino Family Community Forest in Grafton, New York. This is the third Community Forest RPA has conserved – with more opening soon! Please join us on the morning of June 7th at 10am to hear how this exciting conservation success story came to life, cut a Hemlock Ribbon and officially welcome the community to this land. We will then take a short walk along one of the trails.

This Community Forest was funded with donations from Bill and Kay Valentino, other Forests Forever donors, a U.S. Forest Service Community Forest Program grant, the New York State Conservation Partnership Program, the New York State Environmental Protection Fund and the Nature Conservancy. We are thankful to EMI Earth Movers, Inc. for building the parking lot at a discounted rate. The beautiful new trails were built by volunteers from the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance/Rensselaer Land Trust Trail Crew.

You can read more about how this Community Forest came about in our story hub, the Red Eft Reader.
We hope to see you there!
