On Sunday, May 22, RPA will once again partner with the Nopiates Committee for a Healing Mindful Nature Walk. If you don't know Nopiates already, they are a wonderful local organization that supports and advocates for people and families affected by addiction and engages our community in ongoing prevention and education initiatives.

The Opioid Epidemic and struggles with addiction cause untold grief, loss, and pain. Time in nature has been shown to reduce stress, promote healing, and balance our mental health. If you've been impacted by the Opioid Epidemic or addiction, we warmly invite you to this event.

Come walk in nature with us, open your senses to the present moment, and restore in community. We will be walking slowly, sometimes sitting, taking in the natural world around us and sharing our reflections with one another.

Dress more warmly than you think you need to because we won't be building up heat like you would on a hike and the location of the walk is shaded and at a higher altitude than surrounding land. Wear sturdy shoes with good tread. This is a no-cost event. Ages 12+.

Join Kripalu-Certified Mindful Outdoor Guide Sandy Wilson and other community members to connect and restore, using mindfulness practices, deep breathing, and nature connection to heal together. No experience is necessary, and all are welcome.

We will be walking slowly, sometimes sitting, taking in the natural world around us, and sharing our reflections with each other. Just dress for the weather, wear shoes you can walk comfortably in, and bring water to drink.
